Is it weird having a russian accent in the united states?

i have a russian accent and it is heavy!! and in the u.s. people get nervous or something..especially when iam talking to my boyfriend whom is russian also...

Well that's alright i have all kinds of accents i love using irish and russian accents the most tho so don't worry about it.

No. It may be regarded as a bit unusual, especially in parts of the country that have not been used to hearing people with that accent. And I'm afraid you're always going to find some people who are suspicious and unaccepting of "outsiders" as they call it. But you should also find people who are friendly and decent and curious. The town where I work has a large Russian population. In the last ten years or so having a thick Russian accent has become so commonplace most people never give it a second thought.

No one is REALLY American. True Americans are Native Indians. The rest r mostly European.

It is only weird in the US to have a Russian accent if you are Irish.
